Sitting in his garden in 1997, Jean-Marie Greyl noticed that the roots of one of his bamboo plants were growing horizontally, sprawling across the neighboring plants. Taking a closer look, he realized just how hardy and fast-growing this plant was. He decided to incorporate an extract from bamboo shoots into a hydrating shampoo that repairs long hair.
